India just Lost the First match

In Cricket, Opinion, Sports, World cup on February 19, 2011 at 10:35 pm

Well well well… So India won its first match today Against Bangladesh. Scorecard is available on various websites. And cricket enthusiast would not have missed a single ball on TV. Btw I dropped my plan to buy a portable TV for world cup, probably that was insane. you might wonder, what was insane? either buying TV or not buying TV.

Anyway, Thanks to my Photon connection, I just was just not able to watch Live streaming courtesy http://www.espnstar.com, So yahoo cricket ball-by-ball commentary was my respite.

Coming to the point, India won its first match in 2011 edition of world cup against Bangladesh. A thumping total of 370 runs was just not possible without ‘the‘ Sehwaag’s onslaught and a confident 100 run from Virat Kohli. Anyway, it was against the bowlers of Bangladesh. But runs are runs, isn’t it? Sehwaag’s 175 is just right for the start India will wish to have him in other matches, where opponents are stronger and smarter. Batting department was overall good.

Lets come to bowling. I felt Bangladesh total of 283 was much more than what anybody would have expected from Indian Bowlers. Disregarding what the so-called Cricket experts say about home support and what and what not, I say, India Lost this match for lack of bowling expertise. Zahir khan scalped his first victim after some 20th over. Only Munaf could invade B’desh top order batsmen. Sreesanth was too expensive to be bowling in world cup and Yuvi just fails to impress with his above 6 run rate.

Any way batting is shining armor in Team India.

On a final note, while batting was shining, Bowling failed India.

Chrysalis – The change you wish to see

Part 1

Chrysalis :The third of the four distinctive live stages of a butterfly. This is one of the most fascinating stages and one of the easiest to miss. This is the stage that turns the caterpillar into a butterfly

Nothing endures but change.
– Heraclitus

Why change ?

We feel so cozy in our comfort zone that rarely we wish to change. Think, what would have happened to us if our primitive fathers decided to stay as they were, living in stone cast houses, hunting, living like a nomad, no fire,no wheel  nothing. Life would have been so difficult. Since ages mankind has been making forays into new dimensions of life. We are constantly on a path, path to change, a path to find our destiny, a path to create happiness.

Where are we heading ?

Ask yourself a simple question Are we on the track? Where did we falter then? Shouldn’t the very basic premise of Change be checked, every time men were oblivious of the target?  Children follow the footsteps of their role model. What kind of role model are we creating?Parents, Educational Institutions  set the basic foundation of the Society. Every person must understand and constantly remind themselves of the their duty. Their responsibility is to sustain a better and happier future of  our themselves and the Gen-Next.

Role Models

Each individual has a mentor a role model to look up to. It need not be a person. It could be anything which inspires. Which ask you to see, think “what we are doing? Is it right to do? Who all will get benefited by this act?”

Most often Parents or a Teacher shall be ones role model.  One has to be a torch-bearer to thousands who look up to him.  Who is your role model? Are you creating a moral standard for your coming generation?

Changes come in small packages, accept it. – Anonymous

Troubles of Bachelor Life

In Anecdotes, Product Review, scribblings, Uncategorized on January 6, 2011 at 12:24 am

This thought just came to my inquisitive mind while I was in kitchen preparing my dinner. Bachelor life is by far the most glorious days of ones lives. But it has its own share of problem. Especially when You are a forced bachelor. This is coming directly from the horse’s mouth 😛 .

Coming to the point… I had a fair share of fun while I WAS single [ 😦  those were days] Now when I’m in a 9 to 9 job and staying single. I am still enjoying the FORCED bachelor life, save for food.

I am a fast learner and a keen listener. I acknowledge this fact ‘coz I listen to my mom and wife, while preparing my dinner. Luckily I manage to cook descent meal (for myself, Don’t know How others would Like?). Despite all, The Hardest part is boiling milk. If you keep it on stove and monitor it continuously, it WON’T boil. And the moment you go out of kitchen to check some mail.   It boils :X  Tried so many times to check ” How much approximately, It takes to boil? All observations and analysis won’t produce result 😦 .

Recently I bought one Induction Cooker suggested by my friend Vikas (DRSite Hyd). And my life changed for ever 🙂 It has some timer system to boil Milk. Though It doesn’t boils in one cycle, definitely in two. It has systems for Frying, preparing barbecue, boiling Milk and so on. One problem which I could find is that there’s a standard size (diameter of the base of vessel), and I could not find any troubleshooting info. neither on paper nor on net.

Any way, myriad small happenings of life keep you Happy and smile on face 🙂

Do you prefer to talk or text?

In Anecdotes, Blog, News, Opinion, Writing on January 5, 2011 at 8:51 am

Prologue

No doubt communication technology has taken a giant leap with Mobile phones being ubiquitous accessories. The reach mobile phones has today is mind-blowing. Particularly in India, mobile phones and mobile service providers has achieved a milestone which BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd, An Indian Govt telecom service Provider) could not achieve in these two decades. Sam Pitroda an aide to Erstwhile Prime Minister Late Rajiv Gandhi, is supposedly the pioneer of Telecom revolution in India. He had a vision with which he started and now many other service providers (like Airtel, Aircel, Vodafone, Tata Indicom, Reliance,Idea …list is endless) have  shared the vision and have taken it further. Now BSNL monopoly in this arena  no longer exists. (the details I’ll take up in next post)

Apart from this, What has actually served Indian populace is the ease of use and the increased reach of an individual in this vast country. One can be reached anywhere-anytime either with text or talk. It connects two people like umbilical cord.

Talk

I am a strong believer of face to face conversation. That gives a wholesome idea of the person you are talking to. The  voice, the tone of talking, words one use, body gestures – that gives you an average idea of “How the person on the other side might be?”. Body gesture, specially in context with face to face conversation, surely not on phone 🙂 unless you are on a Video call supported by 3G. (In case of 3G technology, BSNL has taken lead. Soon other companies are going to launch 3G services.) The emotions enthrall you and you feel connected like an umbilical cord connects two person.

Text

Having said much in favour of TALK,  leaves me with no choice to put Texting in good light. But, whatever happened yesterday, definitely added few points to TEXT.

♥Anecdote

As usual I was busy (for god sake… busy for nothing, Manager is frowning at you – Voice* said … Quiet, I’m writing my post. We’ll discuss this Later, said I). I got a Text from my wife. It read “Breaking News: Purnea MLA (Member of Legislative Assembly, Bihar), R K Keshri succumbed to death following attack by a woman” I dismissed this outright and replied “Are you kidding me? Must be a rumour.” I had an urge to Google once and check if it is true (Voice: I prompted you to check.. huh.. had an urge.) It was there in the headlines, I called my dad to make sure. He was there in hospital with several others. He confirmed the news. later in night when me and my wife were having conversation on phone, She said ” I am faster than your fastest news Channels” 🙂 I said,Thanks to Texting.

Another incident, which is quiet famous in my college days.  There was a standard answer to “What must be Rajiv doing in class?” – “Sleeping and Texting at the same time, Listening to lecture when he would get Time” 😛

Test or Talk

What is Important with text is the Time and Situations. Wherever, Phone call is a social No-No, you can always sneak peek Texts on you mobile.

On a final note, Talk has a reach and reward of its kind but when it comes to stealth mode Texting has an edge

P.S.

1. Mr Raj Kishore kesri succumbed to injuries, while he was being rushed to hospital. He was Sitting MLA from Purnea District, Bihar.

2. *Voice: Introduce Me…. Ya ok… Voice is a person inside me who believes himself to be an expert in Opinions ‘Regarding me’, takes pleasure in diverting my attention. 😛 Helps me in brain storming on myriad things. (Voice: hmmm.. not good not good… Me: Don’t have Time, will change later.)

3. Please give your views “Do you like to text or talk?“.
