Technology has opened up many fora to interact with written words. To such an extent that the print media, physical books’  existence feel threatened for the sake of ease as with the example cited above.  But the things are not exactly same with the books-e-books as with stairs-elevator case. The feel of book and reading through a physical book  and even the smell of book has no match for its digital sibling – E books.

Arvind Passey ‏@arvindpassey (tweet friend says…)   You can carry an entire library in your Kindle… and end up reading not a single book! That’s the truth of digital books of today!

There will be a ever ending debate on the space , availability and cost perspective and in most cases the the digital sibling may win over its physical brother but in the end  (for me at least) its the book in hand that matters the most…

BOOKS – YOUR THE BEST FRIENDS

In Blog, Books on October 6, 2012 at 8:00 am

English: Five young men sit clustered closely ...

Off late the reading habit had taken a back seat and all work … but the frenzied mind wanted some peace of mind and what else then to read something… fortunate enough i got some advice from fellow readers, bloggers and got hold of few books. One of them is the Krishna key. it was supplied by Blogadda.com – a blog community which offers books to bloggers to write their review. And trust me it was definitely a nice read. I shall update the review of the book in a day or two… Currently it is saved in draft and needs a rework.

Secondly, I had ordered two books from flipkat.com. 1) Indispensable 2) the long tail. About the second book, I had read an extract about it in my friend’s new venture… summarytown.com (a wonderful website to read to the point abstract. do refer to it). And it got me interested and i booked a copy. Before I start this, I need to read indispensable when the leaders really matter by gautam mukunda, published by Harvard Business review press. The first few pages has caught me in it..The thing which caught my attention is the simplicity of the words in which he has tried to explain the complex issues… I shall soon update my blog readers about this wonderful book.

Till then

happy reading!

Art of Questioning

Art of Question

Shahrukh (One of the Bollywood Superstars) says he had to read a lot since the birth of his first child? Why so Mr. SRK? He answers, It is because he want to answer to all questions of his child. Oh ! that’s cute. But is there anything new in it, any parent would like and be pleased to answer to all curious questions of his new-born. sample…

What is the shadow?

Why is rainbow so colorful?

Why we sneeze? so n so…

Millions of questions do come in mind. And sometime we don’t have answer to them. Did we care to learn later on, when we grow up in life, to find answers to questions once we had un-answered?

Ok lets stop beating the bush. The point I want to make is “Why do child have so many questions?”

Their un-polluted mind weave so many webs around, creating millions of questions. These questions be it silly are very basic which we take for granted in our lives.

Parents are called first teacher to the child. If you as a parent snub your child think again. You are destroying a creative talent in your child. They can build or destroy ones future.

After parents, teachers are like a god for the child. They build a child’s future. The problem with the present educational society is teachers have their focus elsewhere than teaching. And the way they treat their students like a money-making machine instead of inculcating their mind and honing their skills. So the creative genius within a child mind takes a set back. And if this situation continues and in most cases it does, the creative genius of the new-born gradually gets low in priority.

One’s friend decide what kind of personality one develops. Choose your friends carefully. But never get isolated, One has to be open to all ideas but assimilate selectively.

Many new discoveries and inventions are the result of the “Questions Asked related to them”

When Newton asked ” Why apple falls to ground?” and he discovered Gravity.

When Galileo questions set beliefs about Earth being at the center of the earth, He discovered The sun to be at the center of Universe.

There are so many and many more examples which reinforce ones belief in the forgotten ‘Art of Questioning

(Learn to question the established belief, May be no person but definitely Encyclopedia or Google can help)

Lets think on this one question ” Why do we not question?”

see you soon…

Merry Christmas

In Poetry on December 25, 2011 at 9:28 pm

I vividly remember this day last year,

lonely I was, staring at the stars

for the Santa to come & bestow me

with the gifts. For I had written

a letter to santa .

This day this year is different,

Santa had a gift in store

waiting for me to score.

here December comes again

brings with it happy holidays .

And i am cheerful & Happy Again.

Wiah you all Merry Christmas ! & Happy holidays !

Merry Christmas
