Much Ado about Nothing!

In Crazy, Life, News, Politics, Religion and Spirituality, Story on May 6, 2011 at 9:41 pm

Since the covert operation by US élite commandos in Pakistan’s Abbottabad, much is being said about similar type of operation by Indian troops. On this side of border, yoga guru, who seems keen to get into politics ASAP by hogging the limelight, and many others are raising demands for a similar action against 26/11 terror suspects . While on the other side Pakistani Army chief has taken the baton. So called saviours of Hinduism and Islam. eff them!

If you see the fact, this is nothing else but plain politics. Not a single man from the either side of the border has wanted war, save for the war mongering Pakistani Army and blood thirsty politicians from the either side.

It seems logical from the Pakistan perspective that, given such situation prevailing there, anything sort of enhanced border activity against India shall be sufficient for general Pakistani public to turn a blind eye from the follies of their army and crave for some Indian bashing. While in India, it’s an easy way to hog limelight by criticizing people in power about their cowardice to act in similar way against the persons responsible for heinous crimes on Indian soil. For, if you put these people crying for justice for Indians at the helm of affairs,  they shall do the same. So what’s the problem?

It’s never the same when on one side it’s Uncle sam and on the other any given government of the world. Uncle Sam has always this theory of being the policemen of the world. What I feel, save for 9/11, the crimes against US are nothing more than their own past haunting them now.

A story from Indian Mythology

Once upon a time, there was a demon named Bhasmasur. He prayed for some thousand of years to Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva is supposed to be very innocent God, easily pleased with anyone (good or evil)  who worships him with all devotion. Hence most of the demons used to worship him for Aashirvaads (blessings). Lord Shiva was pleased with this demon, Bhasmasur for he had prayed for him sincerely and with all devotion. He appeared before him and asked him to Ask for any Gift. Bhasmasur thought for a while and said, ” Lord if you want to bless me, then Bless me a power that if ever I keep my hand on any body’s head, He would turn to ashes.” Lord Shiva said, “Tathasthu” (So be it.) Bhasmasur was pleased, but he wanted to test the blessings. He turned towards Lord Shiva himself to test his blessings. Lord Shiva understood the intentions of crafty demon, he ran. Bhasmashur ran after him. After a while Lord Shiva reached to Lord Vishnu and appraised him of all that happened. Vishnu smiled and assured Lord Shiva that he would handle it. Lord Vishnu changed himself into a beautiful lady (called mohini) and started dancing in front of Bhasmasur. Bhasmasur, a fool hardy demon started dancing with mohini. While dancing Mohini kept her hand over her head, Bhasmasur followed the step and died of his own blessings. His blessings turned curse for himself.

Well, the US is Lord Shiva here and the demon bhasmasur  or al quida/taliban (whatever you call it) is the creation of US itself. Now that demon has turned against himself. A demon that US created years ago. There is no escape from it.

As of today, US politicians are saying there is no comparison between 9/11 and 26/11. WTH! Citizens of both the countries died in the attack from people outside their countries. Numbers should not matter, I guess. If it’s, then US is a Major Criminal for what they have done in Iraq, Afghanistan and many other places across the world, where their troops have killed millions of innocent people. Some time on the pretext of Mass Destruction weapons or sometime on the pretext of freedom and democracy.

Anyway, What I am saying is that Indian govt is not so fool hardy to get into such matter of unnecessary importance. So listen Uncle Sam, We don’t give a shit what you think about parallels of 9/11 & 26/11. We have  business of importance other than war mongering and invading freedom of other countries.  For people like, Baba Ramdev and Army Chief kayani better be shut up and mind their own business. People of India and Pakistan want to live in peace and earn their bread. Don’t try to misinterpret their silence. For Indians shall teach you a lesson in  next general elections and Pakistani shall not let you be capable of staging any coup further. Let your war mongering mouths be shut.

Let there be Peace…

Peace

Anyway, people have short memory they shall forget this stuff by next week. By that time every body will be glued to their television sets for IPL. And above all I’m shit tired of all this obl hash tags (#obl) on twitter and war mongering statements in press and media.

Uncle Sam faces the music

In Crazy, News, Pictures, Politics on May 5, 2011 at 8:47 am

For long, India had accused its neighbour of harbouring criminals in the India’s Most wanted List. And the neighbour has stubbornly  rubbish all claims setting aside all proofs that India has presented in favour of her case. None in the world order ever gave an iota of thought how it feels to be cheated. Uncle sam preferred to zip it for he had been ally to this neighbour.

Now time has turned on to Uncle Sam. The neighbour who has dodged Indian govt by telling a lie lied to Uncle sam , must be out of habit. That it has not harboured any of the criminals in uncle sam’s wanted list. But few days ago a covert operation has claimed to get the guy in the backyard of neighbour, who all this time had claimed to have no knowledge of him. So Uncle Sam is facing the same music what Indian govt has been facing all this while. So what does uncle sam do?

“Pakistan has a lot of explaining to do. It seems unimaginable that* Osama bin Laden was living 1,000 yards away from a military base in a million dollar mansion built especially for him and no one in the Pakistani government knew about it. I don’t buy it,” Texas Congressman Ted Poe, who is introducing the legislation.

* So was Daud Ibrahim, I guess. He even had his daughter’s wedding there in Pakistan and the govt agencies have no idea if he was there all this time . Even now they don’t accept that he lives there. What a joke?

What does India do to this? – Nothing. Just getting angry and asking Uncle sam  and others to help catch him.

What does Uncle sam do in this case?

Anger is running deep in Washington at what is being seen as Pakistan’s perfidy of milking US aid while nurturing terrorists. On Wednesday, one lawmaker announced that he is introducing legislation that will prohibit any foreign aid from being sent to Pakistan “until it can demonstrate that it had no knowledge of Osama Bin Laden’s whereabouts.”

(Why can’t Indiangov do something like this?)

“Congress has already appropriated $3 billion to Pakistan for this year. Unless the state department can certify to Congress that Pakistan was not harboring America’s number one enemy, Pakistan should not receive one more cent of American aid,” Poe said in statement whose sentiment is being echoed by many lawmakers

What amazes me is the report of a canadian paper which says …

Canada’s Globe and Mail reported on Wednesday that the Abbottabad compound where bin Laden was cornered by US forces was being used by the Hizbul Mujaheddin, a terrorist group sponsored by Pakistan that operates in Kashmir.

PS: No intention of hurting any one. Just drawing an analogy of how Indian govt and US govt behave differently to same awkward situation.

Ancient Astronauts

In Book Reviews, Religion and Spirituality, Uncategorized, Video, Writing on May 2, 2011 at 12:04 am

Recently I saw a documentary called Ancient Aliens.

It left me dumbstruck for few moments , cause the explanations (though hypothetical) given in favor of the theory sounds good and logical. The video here is the first episode of the five series. And I am sure it brings forth another aspect of entire history before us.

The documentary is based on Erick Von Daniken’s  book “Chariots of the God? “. It brings forth a theory that in ancient times, aliens used to visit earth and they had been in touch with earthlings. His interpretations of some of the epics like Old Testament, The Mahabharata, The Ramayana , Book of Epoch  and several others shed light on his theory. The descriptions like the arrival of so-called god on some Vehicular like thing added with sound effects and smoke gives an indication of a rocket. Also the god depicted in several paintings around the world show similar structure. Their depiction of god with some halo adorn with horns looks familiar if we compare them with present day astronauts wearing helmet and antennae.

Also some amazing facts like drawings in ancient city of Nazca, ancient maps showing exact boundaries of Antarctica and several others are definitely calling for better explanations from archeologists.

Amazingly I searched for the book and luckily I got an e-Copy. Some links which I found useful:

Kerela Elections 2011- from my eyes

Part 2

Kerela Elections 2011

It happens once in months (more precisely years 🙂 for me) that I wake up in Brahma muhurta (early square morning). Sages used to wake up at this time of the period for ablution in the ancient periods. Practiced still now in case of kumbh melas  and in Islam and many other religions. But my intention was to get things done when the bathrooms are still clean. 😛

At this hour, I always have a delightful scene of the morning Star. It was so bright and beautiful. A lone star shining brightly in the dark sky. I always cherish this moment.

The D-day began with checking the electronic voting machine [EVM] for the last time. I inquired from the locals, have they used EVM in earlier polls. They replied positively and I felt kind of relief.  The things which I felt must be new for this poll was the use of SMS service for intimation of steps carried out at polling stations to the central command.  The very first thing that we carried out was the Mock Poll. Three agents, from the major parties, were asked to poll in random and the final votes were tallied from machine. I guess, this is being done to satisfy their doubts about the EVM. What happens sometime is that the candidates often put blame on mechanical failures for their loss. This mock poll, in presence of their agents, shall help to clear any doubt they have about the EVM.

While we’re testing EVMs, I could see two Old men waiting in the queue to cast their vote, well ahead of time. Vote, a powerful weapon in the hands of common people. It’s double-edged sword. If cast for the right person makes the next 5 years fruitful otherwise a hell. I felt, youths are still not aware of their rights yet. As very few of them came and that too in late afternoon. Ladies were the most conscious of the lot, with more than 50% of the casted votes came from the women.

  • The first 5 hours saw a brisk polling. Almost 50% of the votes were casted by 1200 hours. But then by 1700 hours, sadly the total votes casted was only 62%.
  • Voter ID card was still the main identity card, hope by next elections, AADHAAR (unique identification number or UID) replaces Voter Id.
  • We had a form for Blind voters, sadly none of them turned up. I am confused about how a blind voter shall vote without any aide. And if an aide is there then guess what, it’s not a secret ballot any more.
When the clock struck 1700 hours, the EVMs were ‘Closed’ and sealed off. The polling was peacefully over, but the day wasn’t.
We started back for the center. Collecting people from other centers we reached center by 1830 hours. Then began the real fight of the day. It was submission time. Everyone wanted to do away with their EVMs and papers first. Lucky us, we were second in number. We finished the paper work and submitted the ballot. Relieved, we celebrated our day long journey with Pepsi/Lemon Soda 🙂  .
I got in touch with my other office colleagues and by 2300 hours I was Home. 🙂  Home Sweet Home
Well, this was an awesome experience for me. A small insight on basics of this vast process. Lets see, what people have in store for their future. During this period I came across an SMS which went like this:-
“April 1st, you get fooled for One day, 11 days later be careful, otherwise you will be fooled for 5 long years.”

Kerela Elections 2011- from my eyes

In diary, kerala, Writing on April 15, 2011 at 10:59 am

part 1

Kerala and Tamil Nadu people have their judgement sealed in the strong rooms of electoral offices across states. Behind this goes a dedicated  hard work of thousands of officials who run this process. For the first time i could feel their pain, as I was the part of the process. My maiden journey through this electoral process had its ups and downs.

With the rising sun on the horizon, I embarked on my journey, well it was my first experience. Early morning, Me and my colleague set out for Reception Center (that’s what they called it). It took us one hour of biking through the long winding road to reach our destination. All through out this adventurous ride I had mised my bike. I thought, I would drive my bike here someday.

We reached the center well ahead of time and by that time it was all chaos. People searching for their team mates  and their booth numbers. I accidentally called on my team lead and met some other guy instead. He was short and stout with hairs half gone and half cared like a treasure. I began to follow him. Then my team lead called me and asked , “dude where are you?” I said, “right behind you”. “but i can’t see you, come to PS no. 150”. I then realised I was following the wrong person. Running to the place he mentioned, I met my team lead. Now this was Original person 😀 No mistake this time. In fact when I was following the other guy, I had my doubts. Coz, the person who I had to follow was some lecturer in Engineering college and the guy I was following didn’t look by any way like a lecturer. When I saw him I thought, he must be some time pass lecturer. Any way, four of us gathered at the place assigned and then began the long arduous wait. At around 1200 hrs we collected our materials and sorted it out. Checked and checked again and cross checked again. I observed, everything in the list was mentioned slightly higher than what actually was given to us. Bloody middle men!

Our team and 5 other teams were given a bus, police enforcement per booth and a route officer. After all the teams were done with their cross checking we were led to our destinations. It wasn’t far from the town, only 10 km from the station. lucky us! we were alongside the main road and had few hotels to satiate our empty stomach. Fortunately the center we were assigned had all basic amenities clean toilets, bathroom, running water. What more one needs! The only bad thing was, we were not suppose to use our mobile phones and since there were no plug points, my mobile was already dead by the time we reached the center.

Then began another struggle. There were no electric connection and the Village officer and the welfare team were on the blame game, shedding their responsibility. “Sir, how do you suppose me to look after 40 polling stations?” WTH ! Why did you take the responsibility then, I thought. Any way after the pass the buck story, He arranged for the lighting minus the fan. We then set to arrange the classroom like a polling booth and arranged all the papers required to submit. Then followed the dinner at a nearby dhaba. The cartoon sheets, which I brought from the center, came handy as our bed. We spent the night gazing stars. It was an awesome night. Clear sky, bright moon and the thousands of twinkling stars made us oblivious of the miseries of the day.

PS. Day 2 in next post
